In PLR (Past Life Regression), the client is helped to touch the core of their being and come to terms with their childhood, past, and past lives too! And, in Pitru Dosh pooja, the purohit or pundit performs the rituals that are necessary to appease the forefathers.

Trimbakeshwar, is one of those pious places, where such poojas are performed.  This particular pooja can be performed only by purohits known as "Tamrapatradhari Purohits” (ancient copper in scripture) as only they are authorized to perform pooja at Shiva Temple. Various poojas such as Kaal Sarp yoga, Kumbh vivah, Rudrabhishek are done only by these Purohits.

Tripindi Shradha puja is Pind daan; the rituals performed for the departed. If anyone in the family has failed to perform this ritual, the departed soul(s) are not at peace.  Any soul that is not satisfied in this life and has passed away, is said to trouble their future generations. So, in Hindu culture, performing this ritual becomes crucial.  By performing this ritual, called the Tripindi Shradh, these souls are said to be sent to eternal spirits.  For those who do not perform this ritual, they tend to face hurdles all their life. Maybe financial worries, or family worries, or health concerns, seem to follow them relentlessly.

Performing the Tripindi Shradha helps with: Problems and issues related to professional or career life, marriage, education will get solved. Creates stability and Increases prosperity. It can save us from unnatural and sudden deaths in the family. Chances of a good wedding proposal. And many other propitious results are mentioned on the website. https://www.trimbakeshwar.org.

As I don’t have any connection with my grandparents, or any great aunts, uncles; this pooja and its relevance never crossed my mind.

I am yet to see a life which is devoid of any troubles or challenges, so why this pooja is so crucial, I don’t really understand. We do it out of love and respect for our dear ones, is what I believe.  The very thought that our forefathers, whose DNA we share, are likely harm us or caste a curse on their own progeny is hard for me to swallow.

We did perform the pooja, and my sole thought was, whatever happened in their life(ves), I don’t know. But wherever they are, let them be happy and at peace, at this moment in time and always.
